Debt Management in the UK

Debt management is the process of re-negotiating the repayment terms of credit with a lender with the intention of reducing the monthly amount to be repaid. This reduces the monthly cost for the borrower, but spreads the repayment over a longer term so that the creditor reclaims the total amount owed.

There are two ways to set up this type of arrangement; you can do it yourself; you can ask a company to do it for you. This post is concerned with the latter of the two, and directing you towards a reputable debt management company based in the UK.

The following list is a generic list of debt management companies regularly featured in the UK mass media. We recommend that you conduct your own research into each company before deciding whether or not to use their services.

The majority of these companies are happy to offer informal debt help and advice in the initial stages. Only when you decide to take up a regular debt management service will any fees kick in. Most also offer a range of debt solutions including debt management, debt consolidation & IVAs.
