Algebra identifies relationships between things that diverge over time. These variables include things such as the relationship between supply of an a product and its price. Maths is not an easy subject for a large percentage of students. Many software applications are available with a variety of study introduction so students able to handle any capacity of learning algebra can work around the subject without difficulty. It also assists students to comprehend usefulness of Algebra in real life as well as within industry field. Greater functions utilized in algebra include Graphing complex inequalities, Solving compound inequalities, Solving quadratic inequalities, Adding and Subtracting matrices etc. How to Excel in AlgebraThe algebra software on offer in the market today offer far more useful guidelines and help than what is included in formal textbooks, such as homework assistance, interactive lesson plans, games and a worksheet tool or graphing calculator. The high quality software will have all these features as well as easy usability and coverage of wide area of topics The education tools are always useful when methods like text, audio, animation, video and games are put in to use. Schools and colleges require that students complete algebra courses from pre-algebra to algebra II. Important topics normally include: Finding complement of an angle, composition of functions, finding type of polynomial, determine if line is Subtracting polynomials , Finding domain of a function, Graphing a parabola and Adding rational expressions etc. How to Operate Algebra SoftwareSome algebraic software would only show results, while other (much more suitable for elementary algebra) give away techniques and ‘how-to’ guides on mathematical theories that are in use. For students, ease of use of the software is the number one requirement Thus, the software should be bundled with value added options like high quality and timely user support, enclosed help options, and simply explained math wizards. | March 31st, 2009 | Free Ebook Offer: The Story of America: Discovery - Article 2 |
Just think. If the Vikings had made just that little extra effort to stay on in America when they first arrived just over 1000 years ago then the modern history of not only North America but the whole continent might have started 500 years earlier in 992AD rather than 1492AD. And that would have meant there would be an extra 500 years of this enthalling history to read; and an extra 500 years of the American dream to follow. They couldn’t have been too far from staying - after all they had already started permanent settlements on both Iceland and Greenland and surely North America must have seemed a pretty attractive proposition compared to either of those cold, inhospitable, barren lands. Even their own records, their sagas, are full of vivid descriptions of the amazing landscapes across what is nowadays New England, with the sandy beaches, wooded hills and fast-flowing torrents; not to mention the plentiful supplies of salmon, game and wild grapes and the endless forests of timber. And don’t forget these were the very same tough, formidable warriors who had already conquered much of England, Ireland and northern France. They were certainly no weaklings! No, something must have put them off big time, because although both their sagas and modern archaeology confirm that they definitely DID reach North America, by 1002AD, a mere 10 years after their first sighting of the previously unknown land, they had loaded their longships with their possesions and livestock and headed back to Greenland for the last time. Surely the distance didn’t put them off, and the climate would have been much kinder than they were accustomed too in Greenland, Iceland or their native Scandinavia, and we know they had plenty of food and resources. No, it must have been the Skraelings (the Viking name for the natives - meaning savages) who ended their dream. The very same AmerIndians who were to give the English settlers such a torrid time over 600 years later and who all but spelt the end of English colonization of North America too. It was the Skraelings who forced them to retreat and even put them off any further attempts to return to the great lands to the west. The Vikings were just too few in numbers and too unprepared to tackle such a ferocious onslaught. They retreated wisely, reasoning that they would be better off as live Vikngs on freezing Greenland than dead Vikings in warm and pleasant America. Things might have been different, but then….. . This excerpt is from Discovery - The Story of America by Anthony Treasure. This book is already published in the UK (listed on Amazon.co.uk) and is due to be published in the US at a later date. | March 31st, 2009 | Another Lawmaker Attempts to Ban Online Gaming |
More disturbing news from the anti-online poker front, as an overzealous politician wants to deny the good people of the Philippines the right to play online poker. As reported by the Philippine Daily Inquirer: A lawmaker has proposed that gambling on the Internet be made illegal in that country.Alliance for Rural Concerns party-list Representative Narciso Santiago noted in his proposed legislation that there are no existing regulations on Internet gambling in the Philippines (which is a good thing).Santiago’s bill proposes to make it illegal for people running a gambling or online casino operation to use the Internet or any other interactive computer service to place, receive, or otherwise make a bet or wager; or send, receive, or invite information that may assist in the placing of a bet or wager. He also said there is a danger that gambling sites may be used in scams to trick people out of their money. This is of course completely false, as online gambling sites should not be equated to Nigerian phishing scams or some such thing. This is just another example of a crooked politician who wants to deny people their God-given right to play online poker. I am hopeful that this bill, and other bills like it worldwide, will be defeated and we can all play online poker in peace. |

| March 29th, 2009 | EBOOKS Are Books Too! |
Electronic books - that is books you read on the computer- have the same information and entail the same reading experience as books in the traditional form - that is books you actually hold in your hands. An ebook looks just like a Microsoft document but it is transformed into an ebook format such as PDF where the reader cannot make any changes to the document. There are other points of comparisons of ebooks and just regular books. Anybody can buy an ebook the traditional way, just walk into a bookstore but with ebooks you have to have a computer and internet connection and also a credit card which presupposes your finances are in good order for the bank to allow you a credit card while with a traditional book no matter your financial situation even if you do not have a credit card you can purchase one as long as you have some money. Suppose you were looking for a book on a particular subject and your local physical bookstore does not carry books on such subjects you can always find books on such subjects on the net (and even subjects you have never dreamed of) and you can purchase a book from someone halfway around the world and have it in minutes! An ebook is not a book you can physically hold in your hands and it can be irritating to sit in front of your computer to read an entire book while you can curl up with a traditional book anywhere but with ebook readers this make ebooks portable just as the traditional books. You flick through pages of a traditional book but you scroll down the pages of an ebook. You can make copies of a traditional book with a photocopier while with ebooks with just a click of a button in mere seconds you can make an entire copy of a book. You cannot hold ebooks in your hands but the pages will never yellow no matter how long you have it nor get doggie ears no matter how much you read it. The pages will always be crisp and new as the day you bought it (unless your computer is invaded by a worm which destroys all documents on your computer). | March 29th, 2009 | Cremator’s Revenge - Book Review |
Author, Margaret LeNois demonstrates excellent story-telling capabilities in her 272-page fiction novel, Cremator’s Revenge. The title was perfect choice for the book. Here we have a very disturbed serial killer working as a cremator at the very graveyard where his beloved grandmother lay. Obsessed with her death, a twisted kind of religion, a benevolent hate for destitute people and being a loner, took a toll on him. It seemed, for a while at least, that refuge could be found in tending his beautiful gardens out in the Florida sunshine. The author is brutally realistic and shows a true understanding of people in less privileged situations and the life circumstances that brought them there. We are shown how street people, or “streeters”, survive the elements, avoid dangers and locate food. The huge benefits that the meals, clothes, showers and comfort that volunteers provide is a gift that cannot be measured for those who have no access to these things. The “streeters” creation of tight and protective substitute families, aid against the prejudice within society. And those that aim for greener pastures face huge challenges. The heart-thumping pace is kept steady with the author’s skilled use of fear, righteous wrath and revenge - emotions that today’s society can relate to and on some level, even cheer. A tense romance triangle between a feisty reporter, a frustrated cop and a destitute military veteran really spices things up. There were sections of such chilling horror that I shivered, but couldn’t break away from reading just one more page. I absolutely loved reading this psychological thriller and highly recommend it to readers who like a book that is hard to set down. ISBN#: 0976773201

| March 27th, 2009 | Giant Sequoias - Hiking Boole Tree Loop |
The Giant Sequoia trees of California are a site to see. Despite heavy logging efforts, you can still hike through these massive trees on the Boole Tree Loop. Giant Sequoia National Monument The park system in central California is incredible. You have Sequoia National Park, the first national park ever designated in the country. Next to it is King Canyon National Park, created in 1940. Surrounding a good portion of these two is the new Giant Sequoia National Monument, designated such by President Clinton in 2000. The three parks form a sanctuary for incredible scenery, including the Giant Sequoias on the Boole Tree Loop hiking trail. Although directions are included below, I have to mention the drive to Boole Tree is incredible. As you drive through Stump Meadow, you will see some of the biggest stumps in the world and get a real feel for what has been destroyed. The biggest is the Chicago Stump measuring 70 FEET around its perimeter. Sadly, the tree was cut down so it could be displayed in a museum in Chicago in the 1880s when such trees seemed plentiful. The Boole Tree Loop is only 2.5 miles, but will take a couple of hours since you’ll be staring up in the air like an idiot and looking at some incredible views. Since it is a loop, you can go either direction you wish. The first part of the trail will wind through at least 40 Giant Sequoia stumps that will boggle your mind with their size. Passing these, you’ll head up to a plateau where you can look down upon valleys in the canyon with Spanish Mountain in the distance. Regardless of which way you go, you’ll eventually come upon Boole Tree. Boole Tree is big, but not as big as many of the stumps you’ll see. Boole Tree stands roughly 275 feet high with a perimeter of some 35 feet. It is estimated to be over 2,000 years old and is one of the biggest living trees in the world. Ironically, the tree is named after a lumber mill owner that spared it. To bad he wasn’t feeling as gracious with the other Giant Sequoias as all the stumps attest. The Giant Sequoia National Monument is roughly an hour east of Fresno, California. Highway 180 is the most used entrance to the park from the west coast. Upon entering the park, you’ll pass through a ranger station. Drive north from there and hand a left at Grant Grove after traveling just over a mile. Continue until you hit Grant Grove Village. Just after it, you’ll see sign for Stump Meadow. Take a left and start driving. After a couple of miles, you’ll see a parking lot with a sign. If you’re coming from Los Angeles, the drive will take five hours as will driving from San Francisco. Of course, drive times are dependent on traffic conditions in both cities. Taking a hike through the Giant Sequoia National Monument is tremendous. It will give you a perspective of Mother Nature that few see.
