When thinking of choosing the right rug for your child’s room many ideas come to mind. One of the biggest is durability. With more than a thousand designs to ponder over, one often wonders how long the rug will last. Should you invest hundreds of pound just to satisfy a fashion trend? After all, it will need to survive the perils of being rolled on, trampled, pummeled upon. Obviously you wouldn’t spend a thousand pounds on a hand woven rug that the twins are going to scribble magic markers on or play with the family dog. First, you’ll want to start with age. These materials are typically low cost but can become pricey depending on how intricate the detail is. Wool or natural fiber rugs aren’t made to take on daily abuse and can often fade, or lose their resilience. Don’t get too caught up in theme rugs. Most kids will outgrow them in two to three years. Instead pick a colour that will stand the test of time
