An prize winning filmmaker has added to his accomplishments by releasing the 1st 3D promo vid made in the Capital. Andrew Murchie, who lately won a business award for his 3D short film FourPlay, filmed and edited the promo vid over several months. The video, claimed to be the 1st home-made in Scotland, shows the filmmaker - who is also the tunesmith and performer - as a collection of holograms performing the track Gloria ( the passing of Me ). The creation uses stereoscopic technology to create theatre quality 3D at full HD resolution that may work with both the old red and blue 3D glasses and the complete range of modern 3D TV and theatre projection systems, including full background music system. Mr Murchie recounted : “The video has been over half a year in the making. A lot of the time has been testing the 3D to get the ideal effect for each shot. It’s vital the 3-dimensional effect is controlled to give the most satisfactory results without engendering the headaches so common with badly made 3D films. ” Making the video’s hologram projection look was the most time-intensive challenge. It’s a bit like making the Star Wars scene where Princess Leia beams from R2D2, although not as sexy! “. Posted in Technology Management, Video Portal |
